Bagrad Badalian

These are a few images from photographer Bagrad Badalian. I ran across his work while doing research for my photography class and found it really captivating. I love his use of light and how he explores an almost dark side of humanity. I especially love the way he uses light in motion. Hands seem to be a reoccurring theme in his work. His use of hands seems to symbolize healing or bondage. Either way, I think his work is great.

Just an opinion and an unrelated thing.

I was a bit late with this post. Had some issues getting in the Blog.

I think some of the best artist today don't work doing what most would call art. They work as animators, at magazines, or in TV making art for practical purposes. Today everything is so fast paced, people don't have time to go to a gallery or something like that.

That's why you see all these non traditional jokers (My opinion, not yours, maybe) filling up art galleries with weird strange stuff. Because at this point in history all the traditional artist have other avenues of getting work and not being a starving artist.

Well if there were any real art in galleries  (there is I'm exaggerating.) I think they'd be combining a lot of pop culture things of the day and it may look something like the picture I made above.

Magnet Pixel Art

I found a video on how to make your own Nintendo fridge magnet pixel art and I thought it would be at least interesting to some people. Is also example of how people will always be inspired by what they consider nostalgic. The process is very simple and anyone can do it.

This is a piece done by Christine E. Striemer, and I wanted to show you guys a piece by her because i find it interesting that in a lot of her works she tends to include these gothic, dark trees inside each one. The trees help to portray a sense of loneliness in my opinion, because of the way the trees are often placed. However, she does have a variety of styles, so they aren't all dark like the one above, but I just find these types more intriguing. Each piece of work that she makes are made with acrylics, and are always put onto wooden panels.

Weavings by Mimi Jung

Mimi Jung creates visually striking weavings with bold blocks of color, flowing lines and various textures. She often incorporates pieces found in nature such as tree bark or feathers to her design. I personally love her work and the abstract, but still neat and orderly compositions. I also love her use of many textures. She seems kind of experimental and reminds me of the beautiful work by Sheila Hicks. I'm very interested in fiber arts, if I wasn't already in my last year at SCAD maybe I would have taken some fibers classes! I love the materiality of these weavings..

Madeline Maser

This well rounded artist is most known for her performance art. However, she is skilled in photography, illustration, and other mediums. She has participated in multiple exhibitions and performances, and even has taken part of live mural performances. Following is an example of some of her style.
