"bODY_rEMIX/gOLDBERG_vARIATIONS (2005) performed by the Compagnie Marie Chouinard from Montreal

This is another piece whose meaning I am unclear of. Many browsers of the internet are probably familiar with one or two of the scenes in this performance art piece. Most dancers upon the stage wield types of forearm crutches and incorporate them heavily into the presence of the dancers onstage.

"Abstract art, whether it is painting, dance, film or any other medium Is never 'about' any one singular thing. It requires the audience to pay attention to its own reactions and to incorporate all that reaction - confusion, humor, fear, disgust, delight, disturbance, anger, erotic response, even boredom - into the piece itself. An abstract artist will generally never say, 'This is what it means' but instead, 'What does it mean to you?' I admire an artist that asks so much of her audience." user ELBSeattle
