Blasphemy or Complimentory?

Is it disgraceful that a deity be incarnated as a toy, a pop culture character or even worse both? Buddha the kindly fat man who found Nirvana and was kind enough to come back to help us get there too is represented here as Americas favorite idiot father Homer Simpson as well as being a desktop statue.

Now on the one hand Homer is a beloved character who, with a little artistic license accurately can depict the holy Buddha. At times this cartoon character can even exemplify the inner peace that Buddhism teaches and promotes. Usually when donuts are present.

The flip side of that is that Homer is not a holy figure. He is a cartoon character. One that very often demonstrates practices frowned upon by the teaching of the Buddha. Most notable is his lack of control over his temper usually resulting in him choking his son. I don't think Buddha ever did that.

The greatest affront to Buddha and Homer I feel is that mere men are profiting off of this mockery to the sum of 50 bucks a pop. Really? It's made out of vinyl!
