Min Jeong Seo is a Korean artist who focuses primarily on sculpture.
To Live On was created in 2005 and features roses whose stalks have dried and died but whose blossoms are being kept alive in medical support bags. The work conjures images of both life and death and focuses on how far medical technology has come, but also that it only postpones the inevitable.

This is my favorite piece of art that I have seen in a long time. Roses usually symbolize love, death and beauty and to relate it to medicine and how far we have come to preserve the beauty in life truly is breath-taking.
